Does Anti Weld Spatter Spray Affect My Weld

As a welder, you may have probably encountered or you will be encountering what is called as welding spatter, so of course, you will find ways to get rid of them which will probably lead you to purchasing an anti weld spatter spray, but have you asked yourself: “Does Anti Weld Spatter Spray Affect My Weld?” We understand that you want to be sure that you aren’t doing any more harm to your finished product than intended. I believe it’s great that you worry about your work! That is one of the characteristics a great welder can have!
Below is a picture of weld spatters that have already dried out. They aren’t exactly what I’d call pretty to look at. It seems like they taint the beauty of your finished product so of course, you’d want to reduce them or better yet, get rid of them completely.

There isn’t really anything known about the dangers of anti weld spatters to your work, but to your body, there is if you spray it and inhale it. That’s why it is important that you have a mask or at least something over your nose that can filter the air that you are breathing. Overall, anti weld spatter sprays are great! All you will have to is spray it all over the area which you have to weld or around the area where you are to make a weld. Leave it to dry for a little bit. Begin welding!

If you are done welding and you notice that there are spatters, you can simply grab a damp cloth, then wipe them off. Your finished product will then – ideally – have no traces of spatter whatsoever. It will be like the spatters never happened. Interested? Here are some anti welding spatter products that you can look at:

  • Weld-Aid Kleen Heavy Duty Anti-Spatter LiquidYou can purchase this product for only 7.51 US DOLLARS. You can avail of Amazon’s free shipping if you order in bulk that will reach at least 49 US DOLLARS in total.

This product is great for fixture and tooling protection. It is a solvent based and a quick drying aerosol that will allow you to do pre-heating, high duty cycles, and higher temperature applications.

This is spray allows for painting. It is non-flammable, and contains no fluorocarbons.

    One can contains 20 oz.

Here is a customers review about it:

“Very good weld antisplater. Has Methylene Chloride in it so its a bit more toxic than the mineral oil based ones but cleanse up a bit easier and is not as oily.” – A. Stevenson

Overall, this product was given a rating of 4.7 stars out of 5 stars.

  • HOT MAX 23000 Anti-Spatter Spray [ Silicone Free ]The main purpose of this product is to prevent the welding spatter from sticking on the surface. Note that this product is great for the environment because it is silicone free. Aside from the surface, this product can also help spatter from sticking to nozzles and contact tips. You can purchase this product for 12.98 US DOLLARS.

All you will need to do is to spray this product on the surface of the metal you will be welding, then you will give it a little time to dry, and when it is, you can now start welding.

After you can simply wipe the spatter off with a cloth or a tissue since they aren’t sticking to the surface. This also makes cleaning up a little easier.

Here is a customer’s review about it:

“I use this on my welding table. After a job nearly all of the spatter just wipes off. It also keeps a freshly cut or machined end from rusting if you are going to have material sit for a while. And you don’t have to clean it off before you weld.” – Canoer79

Not surprisingly, this product has received a total overall rating of 5 stars out of 5 stars!

There’s only a few left in stock so if you want to purchase this product, you better do it soon!  They will be restocking soon but it’s not really sure when the exact date is.

  • LOCTITE SF 7900 ANTI WELD SPATTER COATINGThis product is a little expensive compared to the other ones so is it really worth it’s price? You can purchase this product for 34.75 US DOLLARS, but the great thing about this is that it comes with a free shipping.

After spraying this product on a surface, you will notice that it is now very slippery and very easy to clean.

This is a product from Japan so it’s made from high quality and it follows the safety standards.

Here is a customer’s review about it:

“Saves so much on tips and make cleaning splatter so easy, love it!” – JM

This product has received a perfect score of 5 stars out of 5 stars.

History Of Welding

They say the key to being a master at something is to learn about the origin of the art that you are exploring, so today, we are going to be learning about the history of welding. I wouldn’t really call this an in depth study of the art of welding, but somehow we have gathered every important thing about welding and included it here.

When we say welding, we are referring to the method of repairing or joining metal structures through various fusion processes. Usually welders use metals or thermoplastics. Usually in welding – especially in the TIG process or Tungsten Inert Gas Welding –  a filler material is often added to the joint to be able to form a pool of molten material called the weld pool. Once this weld pool cools down, it becomes a joint that is as strong as a base material.

13
The art of welding can be retraced back to the Bronze Age. The earliest evidence that humans were able to find were welded gold boxes. It has been said that the Egyptians were the first known people to actually use welding. If you take a quick look at Egyptian history, you will be able to notice that most of their iron tools and weapons were made from welding. But the whole art of welding became really known during the middle ages and was performed by workmen who were referred to as blacksmiths. They were able to create several weapons and things with the help of fire and hammer.

In the 19th century, a big change in welding came through. Welders have began using open flames from acetylene. Doing so opened the doors for the manufacture of intricate metal tools and equipment. In 1800, a certain Sir Humphrey Davy managed to invent a battery operated tool that allowed him to produce an arc between carbon electrodes.

When it comes to welding, there are different process that a welder can choose from that works the best for him and the material that he or she is currently welding. Let’s explore each one below.

  • GTAW or TIG – Gas Tungsten Arc Welding or Tungsten Inert Gas. Since I already mentioned this one above, let it be the one that we explore first. In this process, you will have to use a non-consumable tungsten electrode to be able to produce weld. Also you will need the help of what they call as the shielding gas which is mostly argon or helium.Hardest of all the welding process to learn because it requires the welder to use two hands.
  • GMAW – Gas Metal Arc Welding. This process is commonly known as MIG or Metal Inert Gas. Here you will be using a wire feeding gun that feeds wire at an adjustable speed and just like TIG, there will be a flow of argon based shielding gas or a combination between argon and carbon dioxide.
  • ESW – Electroslag Welding. You can count on this process to be highly productive and can be used for metals thicker than 1 inch or 25 mm and 12 inches or 30 mm in a vertical or close to vertical position.
  • SAW – Submerged Arc Welding. For this process, you will be using an automatically fed consumable electrode and a blanket of a granular flusible flux.
  • FCAW – Flux-Colored Arc Welding. This is almost identical to MIG only that this process uses a special tubular wire filled with flux. You can choose to use or not to use a shielding gas. This choice really depends on the filler.

Welding Boots Tips And Tricks

Today, we will be discussing some welding boots tips and tricks! Every welder out there needs to know a thing or two on how he or she can care for his or her welding boots properly. It is a must for a welder to wear his or her welding boot while working. A boot is a type of footwear that cover mostly the ankle and the foot. However, there are also some boots that cover the lower calf of your leg. There are even some that go up until the hips, but that is not the type of boot that you are looking for.

For many decades now, the material of choice when making a boot is leather or rubber, or even a combination of both. Those materials are still used up to date, but there are also some new materials that have been added to the mix. Normally, boots are used or worn for protection from water, mud, cold, chemicals that can be hazardous, and some even use boots as a form of ankle support while other just for the sake of style and fashion.

For those who work in the industrial field, there are some rules and regulations that requires the workers to use boots on construction sites. The boots that are usually required are steel-toed work boots.

I believe that work boots are an investment – no matter how much you bought a pair for. You wouldn’t want to buy one every once in a while now, would you? They say that a thing will last for a long time, if we know how to care for it. So here are some tips on how to better care for your welding boots or work boot!

  • If your boot is made from leather, then it should stay between being overly saturated with moisture o and bone dry at the same time. You should invest in some leather conditioner. They are very affordable.Check out this leather conditioner from Amazon.

This is Amazon’s best seller when it comes to leather conditioner. You can purchase this for only 17.95 US DOLLARS. You will really like this product. It has been proven and tested. In fact, it has been around the market for almost fifty years now.

One treatment of this formula will be able to last for six months or even longer. You see the solution will deeply penetrate into the pores of your leather boot and protect it from any damage that it might encounter during your working hours. This product is also wonderful for old worn out boots. It has been proven to rejuvenate old leather and somehow make people think that they are new.

It softens, moisturizes, and promotes flexibility that will really leave your leather feeling beautiful and looking beautiful at the same time.

Another best thing about this product is that there’s no need to keep on reapplying it every now and then because as I said, it can last for six months or more. This fact allows you also to save a little on the expense of buying a leather conditioner every now and then.

Aside from boots, you can use this conditioner on saddles, leather seats, car and motorcycle leather seats, furniture and other upholstery that you wish. Please note however that it is discouraged for you to use it on faux leather and vinyl.

Here is a customer’s review about it:

“I have been a leather craftsman since 1955. I found Leather Honey in the 60’s, but it disappeared for a while. It is really great to see it back on the market. I make leather goods and use Leather Honey to help preserve the leather and restore suppleness. It works great.

When using tooling leather, the dry leather is first moistened with water, carved and tooled. Then the finish is applied. The finish must penetrate the leather and preserve it. Leather Honey does this better than any other finish that I have used. The suppleness that was removed in the tanning process is restored, the leather is protected from drying and cracking and a beautiful, durable lasting finish is obtained. I can personally highly recommend this product for leather belts, gloves, upholstery, saddlery and tack, motorcycle gear and leather goods of all kinds” – J. Clark

  • If you have been outside, then you should take time to wipe the dirt or snow that is sticking to your boots before you come inside the house. Why is this important? You see the particles from dirt or snow can somehow deteriorate the leather surface of your boots.
  • You will also need to take time to really clean your boots. Don’t allow any stains, spots, or scuffs to dry and leave a mark on your boot. With just a mere paper towel and any type of moisturizing soap, you will be able to care for your boot. It’s cheap and it doesn’t really require you to do much.
  • Buying waterproof boots is also a good choice if you want a boot that lasts, because it already has the chemicals need to keep the boot preserved and safe from deterioration. However, if you already have a boot or you didn’t want to spend much on a waterproof boot, then you can just purchase a normal boot and then you can give it a waterproof treatment. But really, if you can afford to purchase a waterproof boot, do it. In the long run, I strongly believe that it will pay for itself.
  • Break in your new boots before you bring them to the work field. Not only will this help you deal with the possible – but hopefully none – pain you may encounter, but it’s good for the boot as well.

Now let us further discuss why you need to waterproof your boot. I keep saying that it’s important so of course, you need to know why. As I said, most boots today are already waterproof from the moment you buy them. For those boots that are regularly used, you may have to let them undergo an occasional waterproofing sessions to prevent the water from permeating through the leather material.

What do we mean when we say permeating? Permeating or permeate means to spread through out, or to penetrate or pervade a substance or an area. How can you test your boot if it is already in need to a waterproofing session? It’s very easy! You will just ned to drip or drop some water on the leather surface. If the water doesn’t slide off the boot, it means that the water has permeated the surface of the boot and you will have to bring it to waterproof it.

There are natural ways to waterproof your boot that won’t require you to spend a lot. You can try using bees wax or mink oil. However, there are those times where these natural materials may change the color of the leather especially for those work boots that are lighter in shade. White and beige for example.

If there’s a situation that your boot has been drenched, don’t panic and simply remove the laces and insoles of the boot so you can hang it upside down to air dry or better yet, why don’t you use a fan. I wouldn’t recommend using any type of heat to dry your boots. Do not put it on time of a radiator or other heating element to dry it. Doing so may crack the surface and do more damage than good. When the leather dries out, it cracks and sometimes, it becomes discolored. You will have to reapply moisture on the boot in order to keep the surface smooth and beautiful. Don’t allow your boots to dry out. When reapplying the leather conditioner – the one we talked about above – be sure to pay extra attention to the creases of the boot.

Keep those tips and tricks in mind and you will be doing just fine, and so will your boots! Remember, your boots are an investment and you should always care for your investments.

Here is a customer’s review about the boot:

“I HAVE to wear steel toe boots for my job, and let me tell you, these are the MOST comfortable shoes!!!!! Ladies if you’re looking for steel toe shoes look no further! I know that most women’s steel toes are heavy, granted yes steel toes are going to be heavier, but these aren’t insanely heavy. I’ve owned some insanely heavy steel toe boots. I don’t have wide feet I have narrow feet, so it’s not due to extra shoe. These shoes are cut for a woman’s feet, unlike so many other steel toes “made” for women. Other steel toes that I’ve worn made me feel like I wasn’t wearing shoes but more of a box on each foot. The ONLY thing that could be better about these boots is the bottom could be a little thicker under the balls of your feet. Other than that these boots have lasted me forever and still haven’t fallen apart!!!!” – Punkgoth_vixen

The average rating of this boot is currently at 4.1 stars out of 5 stars.

  2. CATERPILLAR Women’s Lander Steel Toe BootThis boot is being sold for 99.95 US DOLLARS up to 128.00 US DOLLARS. By buying from Amazon, you will be able to get free returns on some sizes and colors. Here is a photo of the boot:

The boot is made from high quality rubber, and it comes with a one inch thick rubber sole that is very capable of protecting your feet from any injury that may come from stepping on a sharp material. The shaft measures approximately 5 and one half inches from the arch, while the boot opening measures approximately 9 inches around.

Here is a customer’s review about it:

“I bought these from a third party through amazon. They’re steel toed, insulated soled, work boots. For the first week of work they gave me horrific blisters on my heels, from the sole of my foot up my ankle to the top of the boot. I’m sure that was partly due to the fact that I’d been barefoot or in flip flops for 90% of the last six months. Two extra large bandages on each heel for the second week allowed the blisters to heel and the boots to finish breaking in. They’re heavy, hot, and stiff. They keep my feet clean, my toes safe, and they have a nice enough shape. I’m sure they’ll last much longer than any previous work boots I’ve owned. They’ve passed the “crawling over lava rocks” test, the “concrete splatter clean up” test, and the “don’t pinch my toes” test. They fail the “loose gravel slip” test, and the “ankle roll” test.

I hate work boots. Hate them. But I like these better than any of my previous pairs. Since there are no wide sizes, I needed an insole to take up the extra length to get the width I needed.

If you have to wear work boots, but hate shoes, these are pretty good.” – Amy

The average rating of this boot is currently at 4.4 stars out of 5 stars.

  3. CATERPILLAR Women’s Kitson AST WPF Work BootYou can purchase this boot for 52.69 US DOLLARS to 128.00 US DOLLARS. If you purchase from Amazon, you will be able to avail of some free returns. The colors available for this boot is brown and black.

The shaft of this boot measures approximately 5.5  inches from the arch, while the heel measures approximately 1.5 inches. The boot comes with a platform which is at 1 inch. The boot is slip resistant and waterproof. Furthermore, it comes with an antimicrobial lining.

Here is a customer’s review about the boot:

“These are pretty much the exact same model and the same size as boots I wore every day for over a year that finally fell apart. However, the manufacturer changed this perfect boot and made them a lot longer and a bit bigger. I returned them and the got one size down, and they’re still a bit too long. I compared them when I had the same size to my old boots and the front of the boot is much longer. I have no idea why.

I’m not sure if it’s related to that and since the boots don’t quite fit, the top of the boot bends a ton with my foot and it cracks. Also, in only a month or two, part of the top started peeling off (or stained strangely). My last boots didn’t do that until about a year went by after everyday wear. I haven’t seen Cat boots deteriorate this quickly. These boots aren’t quite the same quality as the same ones as from a year or two ago and way too long. However, they’re still warm, pretty much waterproof (I use them as rain boots), great for snow, and have saved me from slipping in oil, spilt milk, and other messes. I still love Cat boots and am disappointed in the size differences and quality of this pair. But overall, these boots are still my most practical footwear that still looks pretty cool. Once they wear out (which will be much quicker than they should it looks like), I will still buy another pair of Cat boots, just a different model.” – Maggie K.

The average rating of this boot is at 4.2 stars out of 5 stars.

  4. Dr. Martens Women’s Kayla Plastic Padded Collar BootThe original price of this boot is at 130.00 US DOLLARS, but you can purchase it for only 79.99 US DOLLARS, thus enabling you to save about 50.01 US DOLLARS. The boot is made from leather and it is only available in the color black.

This boot comes with a padded color and a plastic toe cap that nod to steel toed industrial work wear. The boot gives off a mid-80’s American Hardcore Style.

Here is a picture of it:

The boot is also super lightweight so you will be able to wear it for longer periods of time without feeling any ache in your feet.

Here is a customer’s review about it:

“Awesome shoes! Due to the reviews I ordered a size smaller, I’m a 7 so I went with size 6 and it was a perfect fit. It took a couple of days to wear them in, but so do all dr. martens, received tons of compliments on these, great dancing shoes :)” – Mariya

The average rating that this boot got is currently at 4.9 stars out of 5 stars. That is almost a perfect score.

What do you think of the boots that we featured here today? Would you purchase one of them? I know that three of the boots I featured here are from Caterpillar, but their boots are really nice, dependable, and sturdy. Those are the reasons why there are three of them. You should also watch out for Timberland boots and Red Wing boots. Those two brands are also very nice and comfortable to wear. Using the appropriate working boots is very important, and in the field of welding, you will need some thing to depend on.

At Amazon, you can get these sturdy durable and tough boots for a not so expensive price. Well, it really depends on the brand you will be purchasing, but here are some boots to check out.

  • TIMBERLAND PRO DIRECT ATTACH 6″ STEEL SAFETY TOE WATERPROOF INSULATED BOOTYou can own this boot for only 75.92 US DOLLARS to 150.95 US DOLLARS depending on the price. Here is the brown colored one:

The material that this boot has been made is from leather. The shaft measures approximately 6 inches from the arch, while the heel of this boot measures approximately 1.75 inches. The steel toe work boot is waterproof and insulated at the same time, which makes it perfect for welders out in the sea and for those who have to keep on working even if the weather doesn’t want to cooperate.

If you can stop and notice in the photo above, the collar of the boot is padded. The purpose of this is to add comfort while you are wearing the boot. It also comes with a electrical hazard protection.

The average rating of this boot is currently at 4.3 stars out of 5 stars.

Here is a customer’s review about it:

“I am amazed. I have been an avid customer of Timberland apparel for a long time. But these boots far exceed any of my expectations. I recently bought a pair of Carolina logger style boots for work. I work as a hydraulic mechanic in a concrete plant so my boots take alot of beating. As do my feet. The Carolina boots wore down on the sole within 3 weeks of my purchase. I was quite upset. But since I have bought these Pro Series almost no wear on sole, amazingly comfortable. And they came in wide with a steel toe. Absolutely awesome. If you dont own these as a work boot your feet will not ever experience comfort. Im buying a second pair next month just to have when and if these wear out…” – HappyGoLucky

What do you think of this boot?

  • WOLVERINE MEN’S STEEL TOE RAIDER BOOTYou can own this second boot for only 99.00 US DOLLARS to 163.00 US DOLLARS. Just like the first one, if you purchase from Amazon, you will be able to get some free returns. Sadly, this product isn’t included in the Amazon sale I mentioned above. Unlike the first one as well, this boot is only available in two colors which is brown and black.

This boot is made from high grade leather and it comes with a thick rubber sole, as you can probably observe in the photo. The shaft measures approximately 6 inches from the arch. The thing that sets this boot different from all the other boots is that has a multi-shock – meaning more than one shock – absorbing compression pads that have been molded in the out sole of the boot. For any moisture problems that you might encounter, this boot has some mesh linings to manage them.

The average rating that this boot currently has is at 4.5 stars out of 5 stars.

Here is a customer’s review about it:

“I’m a U.P.S. Delivery driver and I’m constantly going through shoes. I normally buy black walking shoes as it is required that we wear brown or black polishable footwear. I’ve been wearing the walking shoes for about 6 years because when I started the job I tried to wear work boots ,which UPS encourages for safety reasons, but my feet just weren’t having it. I easily wear out the walking shoes in 2 1/2 to 3 months. Walking shoes were always cheaper in price and always comfortable but as I’ve got a little older I have become increasingly more concerned with protecting my feet with a sturdier shoe without sacrificing comfort. I think I have found it in these wolverine raiders. I have a wide foot and was able to order the correct size and width here on Amazon and cheaper than at retail stores I looked it. When I received them they looked great and because of the good reviews I was eager to try them on. Because of my previous problems with work boots hurting my feet and sometimes even giving me blisters I was afraid to take them straight out into the field, as depending on the route we can walk anywhere from 3 1/2 to 5 1/2 miles a day. So for a few days I wore them around the house and to run errands and was pleasantly surprised to find that my feet felt great from the first day. No pain. No blisters. No rubbing. But the true test would be working in them. The first day I wore them to work I took my old shoes just in case the boots would begin to get uncomfortable ,but I never had to use them. These boots worked out great from the first day and I enjoy the added ankle protection and ability to polish them up so they look good as we’ll.”  – Shrekie

Will you purchase this second boot?

Here is a review about it:

“I bought these since I sometimes have to go to construction sites for work. I liked the waterproof aspect as the sites are often muddy. I recently went to the ocean and was going to do some hiking and it was raining so I decided to wear these. I didn’t expect much since they were relatively cheap. They were very comfortable and I had no issues. What inspired me to write this review was the waterproof-ness of them. I was standing on the shore and a wave came up and I couldn’t get out of the way in time. The water washed up over my feet and soaked the bottoms of my jeans. My feet, however, stayed completely dry. Standing in the ocean and my feet stayed dry. Later however, the surf came up higher over the tops of the boots and I got wet. As expected. I docked off one star since the insole that came with them were terrible and I had to get better insoles so I wouldn’t be in agony when standing. And they make my feet look big. But my feet are big so that’s not really the fault of the shoe. They did run a bit big but that hasn’t been an issue. I can wear thick socks or thin socks either way they stay on and don’t move around. But the waterproof-ness is great! All around the shoes are great and a bargain. Totally recommend.” – Amazon Customer

The average rating of this boot is currently at 4.2 stars out of 5 stars.

  • Caterpillar Women’s Kenzie ST Work BootYou can purchase this boot for 105.23 US Dollars to 137.00 US Dollars. It has been made from leather (as you can see from the picture below), and it comes with a rubber sole that is enough to protect your feet from getting punctured if ever you step on something sharp.

For added comfort, you will see a plaid flannel padded collar. This ensures that you will have no problem with your boot even if you wear it for extended periods of time. You can trust this brand because Caterpillar or CAT for short is known for it’s tough dependable boots that doesn’t easily give way to damages and can actually last for many years especially if you know how to take care of it properly.

Here is a review about it:

“I love these shoes for their utility and look, but I don’t understand one design element. I think if I ordered a size smaller, this might not be an issue. There is a gap on the inside of the ankle. I think they intended to prevent your foot slipping up and down by putting this ridge in there to hold your foot in place. There is a ton of cushioning, that gap, and then very hard material. However, since I perhaps got a size too big my foot slips up and down rubbing against this gap. If I wear these more than one day, I start to get a nasty blister on my ankle.

I keep thinking it’s because I haven’t broken them in, but then I looked and found that gap. I’m sad about it and perhaps one day will order them a size smaller just to figure out if that’s it because I really love these boots. They’re great in the water and on oil. They’re great in the snow even and the cold. And they’re really nice looking. The steel toe part is a little bit heavy, but that’s to be expected. I’ve had great luck with Cat boots in the past and wear them every day.” – Maggie K.

The average rating of this boot is currently at 4.1 stars out of 5 stars.

Here is a customer’s review about it:

“We bought these for my husband to wear to work.
I told him to wear them to break them in, but he said the first time he put them on they were comfortable.
He spends all day on his feet, and he hasn’t complained once of foot discomfort.
That is worth way more than these boots cost!
We will buy these again when he needs new ones!” – Hope Coen

The average rating of this boot is currently at 4.5 stars out of 5 stars.

  2. ROCKY MEN’S IRON CLAD EIGHT INCH WORK BOOT

Note that to be able to maintain it’s waterproof feature, you will have to habitually apply a silicone spray.

Here is a customer’s review about it:

“12/5/14 I just received the boots today and have only worn them around the house this evening so my review is limited right now. The boots are light and they look great/well made. They are a little tight across the top of my foot but I think they should break in fine. A boot that has to break in a little bit is always the most comfortable down the road. The tongue is attached almost all the way up the boot and this is crucial for a water proof boot. Water proof boots with a loose tongue are a joke because water can get in beside the strings. The soles feel great, very soft walking, almost like walking on foam cushions. I think I’m going to love this boot. It fits perfect I’d say with very little room. If you like to wear real thick socks they you’ll probably want to go up half a size. I normally wear an eleven medium, ordered an eleven medium, and it fits great with my normal socks.

update, 4/2/15. I am very hard on work boots because I crawl a lot, stomp on shovels a lot, etc. So far, these boots have held up great! No holes in the toes and no cuts in the soles.

Well, I’ve worn these at work for a couple of weeks now and I am very happy. They are def. water proof and they are very comfortable and warm.

9/2015. ,the soles had given up. Changed rating to a 3 star. No longer water proof. Am now trying my first pair of Chinooks. No more Rocky boots for me.” – Chris

The average rating that this boot has received is at 4.3 stars out of 5 stars.

  3. CAROLINA 508 6 Inch Broad Toe Metatarsal Guard Boot USA MADE

This boot is being sold at 231.99 US DOLLARS and not a dollar less. It is expected to fit at around 88%. It isn’t made from genuine leather, but from synthetic.

You can trust these boots to protect your feet from all sides with a leather wrapped external metatarsal guard, steel toe, and tough leather uppers. The soles of this boot are also capable of providing resistance against oil, solvent, abrasion, and heat. Inside the boot you will find a DRYZ pillow cushion and a soft Cambrelle lining that will be able to provide an all day type of comfort.

Here is a customer’s review about it:

“I am a CNC machinist and my boots get oily. Other boots I have tried didn’t hold up, and I have managed to get these to last a full work year. I have gotten one pair that the insole was sewn in wrong and hurt my heel, but the shoe store I got them from exchanged them no problem. One person said the sole split on their pair of boots, this happened alot in the past with my co workers but it seems like the new ones have a new sole that offers more cushion and dont split anymore. They are the only good pair of boots that I can find that are American made. I have been wearing this boot style for the last 9 years, and only had an issue one time.” – Eli

The average rating that this boot received is currently at 4.2 stars out of 5 stars.

Here are some reviews about the helmet:

“I just got this today and have not used it to weld yet but it seems to work properly so just a few preliminary observations that are not mentioned here or in the manual for now .
The head band has a removable sweat band .
Only one adjustment – for shade , no sensitivity or delay as the description says .
Besides tension , height and band size , you can adjust how close to your face ( 3 slot positions ) and how far down it tilts ( 5 post positions ) via the tension knobs . This is not in the manual .
I was concerned about the view size , the more expensive helmet we have at work is 2×4 ., but this seems ok .
This seems well made and fine for an amateur like me .
Update – Used it today with a wire welder to repair a muffler hanger . It was a little dark under the car while not welding and while welding with the shade set to it’s lowest setting .But it worked fine .” – Duane F.

“It works. It’s great quality for the price… as in it’s not just some garbage thing you’ll use once and throw away. You’ll use this again and again. Maybe pass it down to your son or daughter. It can go next to your brown leather books and mahogany chest or grandma’s china. Just kidding… but seriously I like it and use it daily and it keeps on working.” – Amazon Customer

The average rating of this helmet is currently at 4.5 stars out of 5 stars.

  • Antra AH6-260-0000 Solar Power Auto Darkening Welding Helmet

Here are some pictures of it:

Here is a review of the helmet:

“I am updating this review from 2 stars to 4 (would definitely be 5 if the first unit had worked as well as this new one) . After learning of my problem the manufacture promptly offered to replace my faulty shade for free. The new unit arrived yesterday and after trying it out it seems to work as intended. I can now set the sensitivity to where I can look directly at the shop lights without the unit darkening. I’m very pleased with this helmet now, and after only a couple of uses it is my new favorite. I like how the grind setting is external making adjustment easy while wearing it. The response time to unshade is quicker than my other helmet with them both set to their quickest time. Below is my initial review, if you experience the same problem please contact the manufacture and they will take care of it quickly:

I love everything about this product except for the fact that it auto-darkens when it is not supposed to. I’ve been using another auto darkening helmet for some time now which works fine, and i’m fully capable of understanding how to adjust the sensitivity. This helmet has four sensors, two of which on mine are hyper sensitive (bad resistor or something of the sort). Standing at my welding table with the room lights on and looking down at the work piece this thing auto darkens (when not welding) even with the sensitivity set to min (or max, I tried both in case I was interpreting incorrectly). Being curious I covered different sensors and found that two of them were overly sensitive. I’ll likely return the product for a replacement because I know I would love it if it worked correctly, but wanted to post this review to caution others who may experience the same problem and not realize that something is wrong. Happy welding!” – Bob Courtney

  • Timberland PRO Women’s Titan Waterproof Boot

This boot is being sold at 58.28 US DOLLARS to 155.95 US DOLLARS. It comes with free returns on sizes if you purchase from Amazon. It has been made from high quality leather and it comes with a thick rubber sole that will surely protect your feet from stepping on anything sharp. It doesn’t matter if you are going to be working for long periods of time, you won’t feel any strain from this boot because it’s very light weight. The padded collar also adds comfort to the boot. For protection, you can count on the steel toe to keep your feet safe from harm.

Here are some reviews about it:

“These boots were purchased for use around horses in the pasture and stable. They were comfortable right out of the box. Not the “soft pillow” kind of comfortable, but just a “perfect fit with no discomfort whatsoever” kind of comfortable. They feel sturdy, but no breaking in of the boots (or feet!) were required. Also, they support the ankles nicely without feeling tight or restrictive. They felt a little heavy at first, but within minutes of walking they were hardly noticeable.

They ran true to my normal size in most shoes, but having bunions, many shoes can be unbearable if they’re too narrow. Medium, B US in this boot fit perfectly.

I like the length of the laces; just long enough to easily tie a double knot without having a lot of extra lace dangling. Also, these have the type of laces that don’t loosen up and come undone while you’re walking.

A horse hasn’t stepped on the toe yet, so I can’t attest to how well this safety toe will hold up to that. I also haven’t stepped in a deep puddle to fully test the waterproofing; however having walked through mud, horse manure and tall, wet grass & weeds, the waterproof liner wasn’t breached. Debris doesn’t seem to get trapped in the ridges on the bottom of the boots, either, so clean up is quick and easy with a damp rag.

The picture, including the color, is 100% true to life. Even though these are steel toed work boots, I think they’re very handsome. I highly recommend these boots – they’re well made and worth every penny!” -PT Cruiser

“This is a great boot! Most important, it’s comfortable. I’ve worn other safety toe boots that were aweful. With the Timberland you can’t feel the toe enclosure and the foot bed is very soft yet supportive. Also, the waterproof factor has been put to the test and has passed with flying colors; dry socks all round! The only con is that I would like to see the laces just a bit longer.” – Moodgirl

The average rating that this boot received is currently at 4.6 stars out of 5 stars.

Keen Utility Men Milwaukee 6 inch Steel Toe Work Boot Review

Today we are going to be reviewing Keen’s Utility Men Milwaukee 6 Inch Steel Toe Work Boot! Having the correct or appropriate work boot is important. It isn’t only a mandatory part of your working attire but it can also give you protection and comfort as the day continues on. Not all work boots are heavy and uncomfortable, and this boot is one of them. I’m sure you will love it! Let’s check it out!

Here is a photo of it:

As you can see in the photo, the boot is the perfect combination between rubber, textile, and good quality leather. The thick rubber sole of the boot will surely protect your feet from getting injured in cases where you might accidentally step on a sharp material or object. I must mention that the said sole is also slip resistant so you will still be able to maintain your balance and footing even in wet and slippery places.

The boot has also passed as a material that will be able to give you protection against electrical hazards. There are times in your work place – which we don’t want to happen – that accidents happen. There might be an open wire than lands in a puddle of water that you are stepping on. You will need a boot that will be ready to protect you and keep you safe  at all times.

The product dimensions of this boot is at 12 x 8 x 4 inches. The boot weighs 2 pounds.

On the average, the boot has received 257 customer reviews and here are some of them:

“I just received these boots in the mail. I promptly tried them on as I have been wearing blown out boots all week that have holes in them. Not fun in the rain. First, I am impressed on how sturdy they feel. Lots of reviews state that they don’t need a break in period. I somewhat disagree. I certainly think the comfort level will improve in the next few days. They are not uncomfortable at all, just a bit stiff. They are not heavy as others have written. My Asolo hiking boots are just as heavy. They are work boots, that are meant to protect your feet. For the last 20 years I have worn Carolina’s. The last two pair fell apart within a year. Time to change. I really feel that this is my new brand. I actually ordered the soft toe but I am really impressed on how comfortable the steel toe is. It hardly is noticeable and gives me that much more protection, so I ‘ll keep them. Stating earlier that I was a Carolina man, I am not shy about forking over some dough for a quality product. I don’t want to be on the job site miserable just to save fifty bucks. Obviously, I can’t say how they will perform this early. But, out of the box I am very impressed.
Okay, I’ve been wearing these for a week and a half and the inside of my ankles are rubbing raw. The seam that holds the fabric around the heel just rubs away. I am hoping that with a little more breaking in the toe will flex more relieving my heel. I wish that the seam didn’t protrude inside the boot. Other than that they seem good so far. Just need some bandaides or duct tape to place over that seam. It has only been happening while wearing heavy socks.” — dragonfly

“LOVE LOVE LOVE these boots. Never owned Keen in my life, or a pair of steel toes for that matter. Super sturdy, heavy duty killer work boots. I am a heavy equipment diesel mechanic and these things put up with everything I throw at them. Not the lightest boots, certainly not the heaviest either. I was wearing CAT boots before this, zero comparison. I have custom orthotic inserts, even using those with my CATs my feet were throbbing after work, literally, throbbing. My feet haven’t throbbed a bit after switching to these Keen boots. I’m not saying your feet won’t be sore anymore, mine still get sore after an intense day, but they don’t throb anymore. Love these boots, can’t say it enough, bought sight unseen and do not regret it. I bought them based on recommendations of a teacher who swears by Keen shoes. She was right, Keen is the truth, at least for me. Had a few people ask me about these boots while I was wearing them, they are kinda trendy. I love the city of Milwaukee too, cool coincidence. Worth the price.” — Nicholas A.

The average rating that this boot received is at 4.3 stars out of 5 stars. You can purchase this boot for 138.00 US DOLLARS up to 160.00 US DOLLARS. And if you purchase from Amazon, you will be able to avail of their free returns promo. More good news about this boot is that it is included in the sale happening at Amazon that allows you to purchase the boot at the lowest price available on the select options.
