Despite what people think, TIG welding is different from MIG welding and that is exactly why you will be needing different gloves for the two. TIG stands for “Tungsten Inert Gas”, while MIG stands for “Metal Inert Gas”. The latter one is where a welder continuously uses a feeding wire, while TIG is where the welder is using long welding rods and slowly feed them into a weld puddle. It is actually much easier to learn MIG welding compared to TIG welding. With MIG welding, you will be able to use a variety of materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. However, when it comes to TIG welding, it is common for thiiner gauge materials to be used instead. TIG is great because it allows you to get your power at a low level and you will not have to blow through the metal.
